The iPhone 17e has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen that looks really sharp in person. The resolution sits at 2532 x 1170 pixels with 460 ppi, so text and images come out clear and detailed. Apple went with its new Liquid Glass design this time around, and the front glass is Ceramic Shield 2, which takes scratches a lot better than what older iPhones had. Throw in True Tone, HDR, and brightness that pushes up to 1200 nits and this screen is easy to use even when you are out in the sun.

    Performance

Inside the iPhone 17e sits Apple’s 3nm A19 chip and it is quite fast. It runs on a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says this chip is about twice as quick as what was inside the iPhone 11, and you can actually feel that difference when using the phone day to day. It ships with iOS 26 and the new Apple Intelligence tools like Live Translation and Call Screening make the whole experience feel more useful. Whether you are jumping between apps, playing games or just browsing, nothing really slows it down.

    Camera

The camera on the iPhone 17e is a 48MP Fusion shooter with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization built in. There is also a 2x telephoto zoom, so you can get closer to your subject without losing too much quality. Apple’s Photonic Engine helps a lot with getting good color and detail out of your shots. For video, you are looking at 4K 60fps with Dolby Vision HDR and if slow motion is your thing, it does 1080p at 240fps. Up front, the 12MP TrueDepth camera has autofocus and shoots the same 4K Dolby Vision video, which works out great for calls and selfies.

    Battery & Charging

Apple put a 4005mAh battery in the iPhone 17e, which is bigger than what most people expected from this model. Charging is fast too, hitting 50% in about 30 minutes over USB-C. Wireless charging goes up to 15W through MagSafe and there is Qi2 support as well. Since MagSafe is on board, you also get access to all those magnetic accessories that have been building up over the past few years. Day-to-day, most users should have no trouble getting through the day on a single charge.
