Realme GT 8 Pro Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera & 7000mAh Battery

Realme has finally brought its flagship game to Nepal with the official launch of the Realme GT 8 Pro. The brand has long been known for affordable phones, but the GT 8 Pro is a different story altogether. You get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under the hood and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera on the back. Let’s get into what this phone actually offers and whether the Nepal price makes sense.

Highlights:
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor
  • 6.79-inch AMOLED 144Hz display
  • 200MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS
  • 7,000mAh battery with 120W charging

The GT 8 Pro has a 6.79-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1440 x 3136 pixels. The brightness can go up to 7,000 nits, which is higher than what most phones in this category offer. The back of the phone has a circular camera module and the frame is made of aluminum. It also comes with IP68 and IP69 certification, so dust and water are not something to worry about. The build feels solid and the phone looks good from every angle.

Performance

This phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3nm chip that clocks up to 4.6 GHz. It was only the second phone to launch in India with this chipset, after the OnePlus 15. The phone comes with up to 16GB of RAM and storage options going up to 1TB. It runs Realme UI 7.0 built on Android 16. Day-to-day tasks, gaming and heavy apps all run without any lag or slowdown.

Camera

The camera setup on the GT 8 Pro is one of its strongest points. There is a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera made in collaboration with Ricoh GR. The telephoto lens gives 3x optical zoom and can go up to 120x digitally. Videos can be shot in 8K at 30fps. The front camera is 32MP and supports 4K video recording as well. For people who care about photography, this phone gives a lot to work with.

Ricoh GR mode

Not many phones come with a Ricoh GR mode and the GT 8 Pro has it. Ricoh GR cameras are popular among photographers for producing sharp and natural looking photos. Realme has teamed up with Ricoh to bring that same feel to this phone. The mode makes photos look more film-like and less heavily processed, which works really well for street shots and casual everyday photography.

Battery & Connectivity

The GT 8 Pro has a 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging. Realme says it hits 50% in under 15 minutes and fully charges in about 43 minutes. The phone also does 50W wireless charging and can charge other devices wirelessly too.

For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, infrared and 5G. The only thing worth pointing out is the USB Type-C 2.0 port, though for most people this will not matter much in daily use.

Ultra Haptic Motor & Speaker

The GT 8 Pro comes with an ultra haptic motor that gives a much better vibration feel compared to regular phones. Every tap, notification and game feedback feels more precise and satisfying.

On the audio side, the phone has stereo speakers that get loud without losing clarity. Whether watching videos or listening to music, the sound output holds up well. Both the haptics and the speakers are small things that make a big difference in everyday use.
