Redmi 15A 5G Launched in India with 6300mAh Battery, 120Hz Display & Unisoc T8300 Chipset

Xiaomi just dropped the Redmi 15A 5G in India and honestly, it is a pretty interesting move in the budget phone space. If you have been looking for a 5G phone that does not cost a fortune, this one might be worth a look.

The Redmi 15A 5G Nepal launch is not official yet, but knowing how Xiaomi usually operates in the Nepali market, it should not be too long before it shows up here. A big battery, a 120Hz display, and surprisingly good software support for the price, there is quite a bit going on with this phone.

⚡ Highlights:
  • Unisoc T8300 6nm chipset
  • 6.9-inch IPS LCD 120Hz display
  • 32MP rear camera with IP52 rating
  • 6,300mAh battery with 15W charging

    Design & Display

The Redmi 15A 5G has a 6.9-inch IPS LCD screen running at 120Hz, which makes swiping through apps and feeds feel much smoother in daily use. The phone is on the chunkier side at 8.15mm thick and 210 grams, but it feels sturdy enough in the hand.

It is all plastic, which nobody should be surprised about at this price. There is an IP52 rating, so light splashes should not be a problem. Color choices are Awesome Blue, Amaze Purple and Ace Black. The screen also has DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland certification, which is a thoughtful addition for late-night phone users.

    Performance

The Redmi 15A 5G runs on the Unisoc T8300 chip, made on a 6nm process. AnTuTu scores land in the 500–550k range, so it is not going to win any speed contests against phones like the Tecno Spark 50 5G, which comes with the faster Dimensity 6400. But for regular everyday stuff like calls, WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube, it gets the job done without much fuss.

You get up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, with a microSD slot that supports up to 1TB. It ships with Android 16 and HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi is backing it with four years of OS updates and six years of security patches, which is honestly rare to see at this price.

    Camera

The camera setup on the Redmi 15A 5G is simple and to the point. There is a 32MP main shooter at f/2.0 on the back, a secondary camera, and an 8MP selfie camera up front. In daylight, the main camera does a decent job picking up detail, good enough for casual shots and social media posts.

Low light is a different story, as it struggles like most budget phones do. The secondary rear camera is more of a spec sheet filler than anything truly useful. This is not a phone you buy because of its cameras, but they are reliable enough for everyday moments.

    Battery & Connectivity

The 6300mAh battery is probably the biggest reason to consider the Redmi 15A 5G. It comfortably gets through a full day, and for moderate users, stretching into a second day is very much doable. The downside is the 15W charging, which means a full charge will take close to two hours. There is also 7.5W reverse wired charging, which is a handy little extra.

On the connectivity side, you get 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio, pretty much everything you would want in a budget daily driver.

Redmi 15A 5G Price and Availability in Nepal

In India, the Redmi 15A 5G starts at INR 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB version and goes up to INR 16,499 for the 6GB/128GB model. There is no official word on Redmi 15A 5G Nepal pricing yet.

Based on how similar phones have been priced here before, expect it to land somewhere between NPR 22,999 and NPR 26,999 once it arrives in the Nepali market.

Redmi 15A 5G Price in India (Official) Price in Nepal (Expected)
    4GB / 64GB INR 12,999 NPR 22,999
    4GB / 128GB INR 14,999 NPR 24,999
    6GB / 128GB INR 16,999 NPR 26,999

    Conclusion

The Redmi 15A 5G is not trying to be the flashiest phone on the shelf. It just wants to be a solid, reliable daily driver at a price most people can actually afford. The battery life is great, the software support is better than expected and the 120Hz screen is a nice touch.

It may not match up to the Tecno Spark 50 5G in performance, but for someone in Nepal just looking for a dependable 5G phone without overspending, this one is worth waiting for.
