The Oppo A6k packs a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD flat screen with a 720 x 1,570 pixel resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate makes everyday use feel smooth whether you are scrolling through Instagram or watching YouTube videos. The 240Hz touch sampling rate also helps the screen respond to your fingers really quickly with no noticeable lag at all. Brightness goes up to 900 nits by default and can hit 1,125 nits at its highest which is more than enough to see things clearly under direct sunlight.

The phone comes in three colours which are Dawn Gold, Seashell White and Twilight Blue. All three options look pretty great and the phone feels well built in the hand. It also comes with IP69 + IP68 + IP66 dust and water resistance which is a really nice thing to have at this price. The phone measures 166.61 x 78.51 x 8.61mm and weighs about 216 grams.

    Performance

Under the hood the Oppo A6k is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip. It has 8 cores running at up to 2.4GHz and is built on a 6nm process. You get up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage which gives you plenty of room for apps, photos and videos. In day to day use the phone keeps up just fine with regular tasks like browsing, streaming and switching between apps without any slowdowns. It runs ColorOS 15.0 which feels clean and easy to get used to.

Unlocking the phone is done through a side fingerprint sensor or face unlock. Both options work quickly in most situations. There is also a memory card slot in case you ever need more space which is always a handy thing to have.

    Camera

On the back you get a dual camera setup. The main camera is a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture, a 27mm equivalent focal length and autofocus. The second one is a 2-megapixel monochrome camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear setup supports up to 10x digital zoom and can record full HD video at up to 60fps. Shooting modes include Portrait, Night, Panorama, Slow Motion, Time-Lapse, Underwater Camera and an AI ID Photo mode so there is quite a bit to play around with.

On the front you get an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 25mm equivalent focal length. It supports Portrait, Night, Beauty Selfies and Screen Flash among other modes. It is a basic front camera but it gets the job done for everyday selfies and video calls without any real complaints.

    Battery & Connectivity

The 7,000mAh battery is really where this phone stands out. That is a seriously big battery and most people will have no trouble getting through two full days on a single charge. When you do need to plug in the 45W SuperVOOC fast charging fills things back up pretty quickly. It also works with 33W SuperVOOC, 44W third-party UFCS and 33W PPS charging so you have some flexibility with different chargers which is a good thing.

For connectivity you get 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC and aptX HD support and a USB Type-C port. Audio output also runs through the Type-C port and it supports both digital and analog Type-C headphones. Navigation wise you have GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS all covered. The one thing missing here is NFC which might bother some people but for this price range it is not a big deal for most users.
