Vivo Y6a Launched in China with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 7,200mAh Battery and 50MP Camera: Price & Specifications

Vivo wasted no time announcing its next handset. Days before unveiling the considerably pricier X Fold 6 foldable, the company quietly launched the Y6a in China, a phone built around three big selling points: a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, a 7200mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel main camera. There has been no word yet on an official release in Nepal, but plenty of buyers here are already asking what a Vivo Y6a Nepal price tag might look like.

⚡ Highlights:
  • Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 8GB RAM
  • 6.75-inch HD+ LCD, 120Hz, 1200 nits
  • 50MP rear camera, 8MP selfie
  • 7200mAh battery, 44W wired charging

Visually, the Y6a does not try to reinvent anything. Vivo went with a square camera module on the back, holding a single lens and an LED flash, while the front gets a small hole-punch cutout for the selfie shooter. At roughly 219 grams, it is not a particularly light phone, but it is not heavy either. Buyers in China can pick from three finishes: Galaxy Silver, Obsidian Black, or Phoenix Welcomes Gold.

The screen is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 720×1570 pixel resolution. It is not the sharpest panel on the market, but it does pack a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1200 nits of brightness when needed. Touch response is rated at 240Hz, and Vivo has thrown in IP68 and IP69 certification, so the phone should survive splashes, dust, and the occasional spill without much drama.

Performance

Inside, Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 does the heavy lifting. It runs six efficiency cores at 1.95GHz and two performance cores that can climb to 2.2GHz, with an Adreno 613 GPU handling graphics duties. It is not a chip built for gaming benchmarks, but that is not really the point of this device.

Vivo paired it with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, plenty for most people’s apps, photos, and downloads. The phone runs Android 16 wrapped in OriginOS 6, and unlocking it is handled either through a side-mounted fingerprint sensor or face recognition. If Vivo Y6a Nepal availability does happen, this kind of everyday performance should suit casual users just fine.

Camera

On the back, there is just one camera: a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus. Vivo also added up to 10x digital zoom, a nice inclusion considering there is no dedicated zoom lens to rely on.

Selfies come from an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.05 aperture, capable of up to 2x digital zoom. Both cameras top out at 1080p video, nothing groundbreaking, but enough for everyday photos, quick clips, and video calls.

Battery and Connectivity

Battery capacity is arguably the headline feature here. A 7200mAh cell sits inside the Y6a, large enough to push well past a single day of typical use. Charging comes via a 44W wired connection, fast enough to avoid long waits when the battery finally does dip low.

Network-wise, the phone covers 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2, alongside a USB Type-C port. For positioning, it draws on GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, QZSS, and Galileo. Rounding things out are a gravity sensor, an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an e-compass, and even an IR blaster.

Vivo Y6a 5G Price and Availability in Nepal

As for here at home, there’s no official word yet on whether the phone is coming to Nepal, but going by this price, we can expect the Vivo Y6a Nepal price to land somewhere close to NPR 44,500 once it does show up. Take that number with a grain of salt for now since it’s just an estimate, and keep an eye out for any official announcement or local retailer listing before treating it as final.

Conclusion

Between the 7200mAh battery, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, and a 50-megapixel main camera, the Y6a checks a lot of boxes for a budget device. Whether it actually reaches Nepal is not clear yet, but if it does, the combination of long battery life and dependable everyday performance could make it a tempting option for buyers who do not want to overspend. Until then, this stays a China-only release worth keeping an eye on.
