HONOR Watch X5 Play Overview
Design and Display
The watch has a simple rectangular body that measures 49.9 x 40.8 x 10.5 mm and weighs about 26 grams without the strap. It uses a PC+ABS build that keeps things light on the wrist. An IP68 rating handles dust and rain but the watch is not meant for swimming or hot showers.
Up front the watch gets a 2.01-inch TFT screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. This should make menus and screen changes feel smooth in daily use. Brightness reaches up to 550 nits so notifications and workout details should stay readable outdoors.
The watch ships with a soft silicone strap that fits wrists between 135mm and 205mm. A single button supports short and long presses for quick control. Charging is also easy since the watch uses a magnetic charging port.
Performance and App Compatibility
The watch runs on an RTOS that favors efficiency over a full app ecosystem. Instead of a Wear OS style experience it sticks to essential features and smooth everyday use. This approach also helps the large battery last longer between charges.
For app compatibility the watch works with Android 9.0 or later and iOS 15.1 or later. It pairs with your phone over Bluetooth and uses the HONOR Health app for setup and watch face changes. The same app stores your health data and workout records so an HONOR phone is not required.
Health and Fitness Features
On the health side the optical heart rate sensor offers 24-hour monitoring. Blood oxygen (SpO₂) and stress readings and sleep tracking sit alongside it. Together these give a simple picture of your daily activity and rest patterns. You do not need to check each reading by hand since the watch collects them through the day.
When it comes to workouts the watch offers 109 sports modes. These cover everyday activities like walking and running and cycling along with a range of indoor and outdoor exercises. The built-in accelerometer helps detect movement during activity. You can review your workout records in the HONOR Health app after each session.

Battery Life and Connectivity
The 450mAh Li-Po battery is quite large for this segment. HONOR claims up to 18 days on a single charge under typical use. Charging happens through a magnetic cable that needs 5V/1A or more. Heavy use such as frequent calls or long workout tracking will naturally reduce that number.
On the connectivity side the watch uses Bluetooth 6.0 with BLE and BR/EDR support on the 2.4GHz band. This helps it stay paired with your phone while it syncs health and workout data to the HONOR Health app. The built-in speaker and microphone handle calls. Those calls only work while the watch stays connected to your phone.
