iPhone 18 Pro Launched in Nepal with A20 Pro Chip, 48MP Variable Aperture Camera & Massive Battery Upgrade

The iPhone 18 Pro is now officially launched in Nepal, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the first foldable iPhone Duo is coming soon. With a new A20 Pro chip, upgraded 48MP cameras, a high-refresh-rate display, and a larger battery, it brings several notable upgrades to Apple’s latest Pro lineup. Let’s take a closer look at iPhone 18 Pro key specifications, price, and availability in Nepal.

iPhone 18 Pro Overview

Design and Display

Apple hasn’t reinvented the wheel here. The iPhone 18 Pro sticks with the glass-and-aluminum build fans already know, protected by Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back, so it should hold up well against everyday scratches and accidental drops. At 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm and 211 grams, it still sits comfortably in one hand, which is honestly impressive given how much extra hardware Apple has crammed inside compared to last year.

The display is where the upgrade really shows. You’re getting a 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED panel running at a smooth 120Hz, with brightness that can climb all the way up to 3000 nits at its peak. In practical terms, that means reading messages or checking maps under harsh afternoon sun shouldn’t be a squinting exercise anymore. The screen should stay perfectly legible even in direct light.

Performance

The star of the show is the new A20 Pro chip, and it’s a genuinely big deal. It’s Apple’s first smartphone processor built on a 2-nanometer process, which the company is calling a “desktop-class” chip. It packs a 6-core CPU with two performance cores that Apple says run up to 20% faster than the A19 Pro, alongside four efficiency cores and a redesigned 7-core GPU offering up to 40% faster graphics.

What does that mean for actual day-to-day use? With every storage tier now shipping with 12GB of RAM as standard, multitasking, gaming, and running Apple Intelligence features on-device should all feel noticeably smoother than on the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple claims up to 40% more sustained performance over the iPhone 17 Pro, thanks partly to a much larger vapor chamber for better heat management, so paired with iOS 27, switching between heavy apps or editing 4K footage on the go should feel a lot less like waiting and a lot more like instant response.

Camera

This is the section Apple clearly wanted everyone talking about. The iPhone 18 Pro’s 48MP main camera now comes with a genuine variable aperture, a first for any iPhone, built using six laser-cut blades, each thinner than a human hair, moved automatically by a small rotor mechanism. In darker environments the aperture opens up to let in around 50% more light, while it’s optimized around f/1.8 for portrait shots and can widen further for more dramatic, shallow-depth images. It’s paired with a 100mm periscope telephoto for 4x optical zoom and a 48MP ultrawide, so the whole triple-camera system feels far more flexible than a typical yearly refresh.

The front camera gets love too, bumped up to 18MP with support for ProRes and Apple Log 2, which is great news if you shoot a lot of video content for social media or vlogging. And it’s not just about capturing better shots anymore. Apple has also leaned into post-processing, letting users fine-tune composition and lighting after the photo’s already taken, something that used to require a separate editing app entirely.

Battery and Connectivity

Battery life gets a real bump this year, with capacity landing somewhere between 4056mAh and 4288mAh depending on which SIM configuration you go with, and Apple rating the eSIM-only model for up to 36 hours of video playback. Charging is quicker too. Wired charging gets you to 50% in just 15 minutes, while 25W MagSafe wireless charging hits the same half-charge mark in about 30 minutes, so a quick top-up before heading out the door is genuinely practical now rather than just a marketing line.

On the connectivity front, you’re looking at Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB-C port that also supports DisplayPort output for connecting to external monitors. There’s satellite-based Emergency SOS and messaging built in for when you’re out of network range, plus a noticeably smarter Siri baked into iOS 27 that leans much more heavily on on-device AI processing, meaning quicker, more context-aware responses without always needing to ping Apple’s servers.
