The display on the Moto G87 is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling feel pretty smooth. The 5,000-nit peak brightness is a real highlight here and colors look accurate thanks to 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Gorilla Glass 7i keeps the screen safe from accidental drops. The phone also holds IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings plus MIL-STD-810H certification so it can handle rough conditions pretty well. You get two color choices which are Pantone Overture and Pantone Blue Atoll.

    Performance

Under the hood the Moto G87 is running on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 which is the same chip from the Moto G77. For the price this chip feels a little underwhelming and Motorola could have done better here. You get either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and storage options go up to 256GB with microSD support up to 2TB. The Hello UI on top of Android 16 feels clean and easy to use but only one major OS update is promised which might be a problem for people who keep their phones for a long time.

    Camera

This is where the Moto G87 really tries to make a mark. Motorola bumped the main sensor from 108MP all the way up to 200MP with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS which should help a lot in low light and while recording videos. There is also an 8MP ultrawide on the back. The front gets a 32MP shooter that can record 2K video as well. Both cameras top out at 2K video recording which is fine for most people. The only downside is the chip does not fully keep up with what the 200MP sensor is capable of.

    Battery & Connectivity

The 5,200mAh battery on the Moto G87 should get most people through a full day without any trouble. Charging is handled by 30W TurboPower which is not the fastest out there but gets the job done.

Connectivity options cover 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and USB-C. The stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support sound noticeably better than the G77 according to Motorola. For security there is an under-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock.

    Conclusion

The Moto G87 is a good option if you want a durable phone with a capable camera at a mid-range price. The display is bright and the 200MP camera is a big step up from before. The Dimensity 6400 chip is the one area that lets the phone down a bit. If NPR 79,999 is the final Moto G87 Nepal price then it is worth considering but make sure to weigh your options before buying.
