Redmi had been dropping hints about the Redmi K90 Max for the past week and now it’s official. The phone launches on April 21 in China. It sits right between the K90 and K90 Pro Max, both of which are already on sale. So if you’ve been holding out for something in the middle of that range, this might be it.
What We Know About the Redmi K90 Max So Far

Display
6.83-inch
165Hz · 3500 nits peak
Chipset
Dimensity 9500
3nm + dedicated GPU chip
Battery
Up to 8,500mAh
100W wired charging
The screen is a 6.83-inch panel that runs at 165Hz and can get as bright as 3500 nits. It also handles high frame rate gaming well, with over 40 games able to run at up to 165fps. Redmi also made some tweaks to improve how dark areas look in games, which is a nice touch for anyone who plays at night.
The big talking point here is the built-in fan cooling system, which is a first for any Redmi phone. It uses a vertical air intake design, measures 18.1mm, and pushes airflow up to 0.42CFM. In short, it cools the phone down fast when you’re deep into a gaming session.
The fan sits on its own structure inside the phone, separate from the motherboard, so it doesn’t interfere with anything else. Even with a fan inside, the phone still carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The fan uses a metal bearing and has been tested for long-term durability.
Under the hood, there’s a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip on a 3nm process, plus a dedicated graphics chip for gaming. The battery is expected to land between 8000mAh and 8500mAh with 100W wired charging. Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual speakers with custom tuning and a metal frame.
What else is Redmi launching on April 21?

The K90 Max isn’t the only thing dropping that day. Redmi has a full lineup ready to go:
Redmi K Pad 2
A proper flagship tablet running on the same Dimensity 9500 chip as the K90 Max
Redmi Pad 2 SE
A more affordable option aimed at everyday users who don’t need flagship specs
Redmi Book Pro (2026)
Two laptops, one 14-inch and one 16-inch, both getting a 2026 refresh
April 21 is going to be a busy day for Redmi fans. We’ll have everything covered the moment the event goes live.
