Vivo X500 Overview

Design and Display

The Vivo X500 sticks to the same flagship design language as the rest of its siblings, though it carries its own proportions. The phone comes in at 8.15mm thick and weighs between 211g and 213g depending on the variant chosen. It also holds onto IP68 and IP69 ratings, so dust and water shouldn’t be much of a worry. On the back, Vivo has gone with a large circular camera ring shifted toward the left side, sitting inside a raised glass section that blends smoothly into the rest of the panel. Buyers get four colorways to pick from: Sunny Day, Dawn, Earth Echo, and Night Photography.

Flip to the front and there’s a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a sharp 2750 x 1260 pixel resolution. The 144Hz refresh rate should make everyday scrolling and gaming feel noticeably smooth, and the display shifts dynamically between 30Hz and 144Hz depending on what’s happening on screen. Brightness is another highlight here, peaking at a striking 4,000 nits with 2,000 nits sustained for outdoor use, while 10-bit color and HDR support round out the viewing experience.

Performance

Under the hood, the Vivo X500 runs on MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9600M chipset, which should be plenty capable for daily tasks and heavier workloads alike. It’s paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and storage options going up to 1TB of UFS 4.1, giving users a good amount of headroom for apps, games, and media without slowing things down.

On the software side, the phone ships with OriginOS 7 built on top of Android 17. Vivo is backing it with five years of OS upgrades and security patches, which is a solid commitment for long-term use. There’s also a 72-month anti-aging rating attached, meant to help the phone hold onto its performance and responsiveness well beyond the first couple of years.

For photography, the Vivo X500 features a Zeiss-tuned triple camera setup. The main sensor is a 50MP Sony LYT828 unit with gimbal-level OIS, which should help a lot with steady shots and smoother video. Alongside it sits a 64MP APO telephoto lens offering 3.1x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, giving users plenty of reach for distant subjects.

Rounding out the setup is a 50MP ultrawide camera, useful for landscapes and group shots. Both the main and telephoto lenses come with optical stabilization built in, which should make a real difference in low-light conditions. Video recording tops out at 8K, and for selfies or video calls, there’s a 50MP front camera on board as well.

Battery and Connectivity

Battery life shouldn’t be a concern here, since the Vivo X500 packs a large 7,500mAh cell that should comfortably carry most users through a full day of use, even with heavier screen time. Charging is handled through 90W wired support and 40W wireless, so despite the battery’s size, getting back to full shouldn’t take too long.

On the connectivity side, the phone covers all the essentials: 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.2, along with dual Nano-SIM support. It also comes equipped with a wide range of positioning systems, including GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, and NavIC, along with a built-in infrared port that can double as a remote for TVs and other home appliances.
