Huawei Nova 15 series just got launched in China, and these phones look pretty good. There are three versions this time – the regular Nova 15, the Nova 15 Pro, and the top-of-the-line Nova 15 Ultra. What caught my eye is this “dual-ring” design they’re using on the back – it’s something different from what we’ve seen before. They’ve also upgraded the cameras, put in faster processors, and added bigger batteries. All three phones run HarmonyOS 6.0 and have satellite connectivity, which is pretty cool. People here in Nepal are already asking when these will arrive and how much they’ll cost.
Display & Design

Huawei Nova 15: The Nova 15 comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ quality and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. On the back, there’s this new dual-ring camera setup that looks quite nice. The front has just a tiny hole for the selfie camera. They’ve given it IP65 rating, which means it can handle some water splashes and dust.

Huawei Nova 15 Pro: The Pro version goes bigger with a 6.84-inch LTPO OLED screen that adjusts from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on what you’re doing. The screen gets super bright at 4,000 nits, so you can see it clearly even under direct sunlight. They’ve used Kunlun glass on top, which is tougher than regular glass. There’s a pill-shaped cutout for two front cameras, and the dual-ring design on the back looks really good. IP68 and IP69 ratings mean you can drop it in water or take it to dusty places without worrying.

Huawei Nova 15 Ultra: The Ultra has the same big 6.84-inch LTPO OLED display as the Pro with that 1-120Hz refresh rate. The 4,000 nits brightness is fantastic, and Kunlun glass keeps the front protected. That dual-ring camera design looks even better here. Like the Pro, you get IP68 and IP69 protection.
Performance
Huawei Nova 15: Inside, there’s the Kirin 8020 chip – the same processor they used in last year’s Nova 14 Pro and Ultra. According to Huawei, it works about 42% better than the Kirin 8000. The phone has satellite connectivity, so you can stay in touch even when you’re way off the grid or stuck somewhere without regular network coverage. It runs HarmonyOS 6.0 right out of the box.
Huawei Nova 15 Pro: The Pro gets Huawei’s brand new Kirin 9010S chip, which is about 18% faster than the Kirin 8020. Apps open faster, games don’t lag, and you can jump between different apps without things slowing down. Satellite connectivity and HarmonyOS 6.0 come standard.
Huawei Nova 15 Ultra: Same Kirin 9010S chip in the Ultra as the Pro. That 18% speed boost really shows when you’re gaming or editing videos. Whether you’re running multiple apps at once or playing heavy games, this phone handles it like a champ.
Camera
Huawei Nova 15: The main camera is 50MP and takes really good photos in different lighting situations. There’s a 12MP telephoto lens for when you need to zoom in, plus a 1.5MP sensor that helps get the colors right. The selfie camera is 50MP too, which is great for video calls and selfies.
Huawei Nova 15 Pro: The Pro has a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and stabilization – no more blurry photos when your hand shakes. There’s a 12MP telephoto and a 13MP ultrawide lens that can fit a lot into one shot. Up front, you get a 50MP selfie camera plus another 1.5MP sensor for better portrait photos.
Huawei Nova 15 Ultra: The Ultra goes all out with three 50MP cameras on the back. The main one has a smart aperture that changes between f/1.4 and f/4.0, plus stabilization. The periscope telephoto zooms in 3.7 times optically, and the ultrawide lens captures a huge 118-degree view. The selfie setup matches the Pro with 50MP and 1.5MP sensors.
Battery
Huawei Nova 15: There’s a big 6,000mAh battery inside that’ll get you through a full day of heavy use. The 100W fast charging fills it up really quickly – you can top it up while getting ready in the morning and you’re good to go.
Huawei Nova 15 Pro: The Pro bumps up to a 6,500mAh battery. Even if you’re on your phone all day, this thing just keeps going. The 100W charging is lightning fast – just plug it in for a bit and you’ve got enough juice to last hours.
Huawei Nova 15 Ultra: Same 6,500mAh battery as the Pro, but here’s where it gets interesting – besides the 100W wired charging, you also get 50W wireless charging. So if you have a wireless charger, you can just drop your phone on it, and it charges pretty fast too.

Better wait for the official announcement before planning your budget!
